Listed below are some of the current issues that the committee will work on in the coming year:

1. Education of our membership on current items
Provide educational forums to help business understand new matters affecting them like piracy, intellectual property, senior government speakers etc.

2.  Red Tape

Identify areas where red tape inhibits business growth and viability, ie tax forms.

Possible Survey on what issues are facing members: exs inability of large companies to access credits to utilities,

3.  Federal and Provincial Budgets
The Committee reviews and comments on the Provincial and Federal Budgets.  Provincial budget – try to be forewarned as the Province does not give much leeway when presenting the budget.

4. OCC and CCC Policy Submission

Develop policies for submission to OCC (Ontario Chamber of Commerce) and CCC (Canadian Chamber of Commerce).

  • Red tape- $10M threshold too high for ITC’s to kick-in
  • Competitiveness, Skills Shortage (CCC)
