Membership Committee

The mission of the membership committee is to provide quality programs and services that will ensure more opportunity for retention and growth of our membership.


Issue: 1 – Identify and review opportunities, marketing strategies, and actions for recruiting new members and retaining current members. To fulfill the role of an ambassador of the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce. (Develop more of an online presence- Facebook, social media; more brochures and presentations at Service Canada, SLEP, Self-employment areas. Review sales materials- printed & electronic

Issue: 2 – Review current and approve new incentive programs – i.e. Mystery Shopper

Issue: 3 – Review and address website and on-line directory on annual basis, as it affects membership sales and retention issues. Develop an online guide to integrate new members; post testimonials; More photos & Videos.

Issue: 4 – Review cancellations and exit interview results as to why they are leaving membership. (Continue to include cancellation report with specific reasons why companies choose not to renew membership and a report every 6 months to see trends)

Issue: 5 - Continue to develop groups such as the Young Professionals and Industrial Taskforce for the purpose of enriching Chamber Membership. Use YP's for referrals of Young Entrepreneurs;

Issue 6 Review current potential member marketing material and handouts to ensure the material is up-to-date and relevant for current market conditions. Include a call to action, improve visual impact of our inserts and condense "reading" material for greater impact.
