Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce Mentor Program
The Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce, and Sarnia Lambton Workforce Development Board are happy to announce a joint mentoring project.
The mentoring program represents an opportunity for a business professional with a specific goal to receive feedback and guidance from an experienced mentor to help in achieving that goal.
Currently we have Eight Mentors Available.
What is required to be involved in the program?
As the mentee, you are responsible for determining what you are hoping to learn from the mentoring period. As part of your application for the mentoring program, we will ask you to create an action plan. This plan should include what you primary goal is, and then a set of sub-goals required to help meet the primary goal.
It is important that when you apply for a mentor that you have determined what your primary goal is, and to properly convey this information to your potential mentor in your submission.
The role of the mentor will be to act as a sounding board, and to provide feedback and guidance for the mentees consideration to help them achieving their action plan. At a meeting, they will be providing feedback on what you have done towards your goal since your last meeting, and also providing suggestions on what to look at before you meet again.
Mentors and Mentees will meet for 4-6 hours a month for six months. The mentor and mentee will jointly agree on the frequency of meetings, and the mediums of communication to be utilized.
