Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce Mentor Program
The Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce, and Sarnia Lambton Workforce Development Board are happy to announce a joint mentoring project.
The mentoring program represents an opportunity for a business professional with a specific goal to receive feedback and guidance from an experienced mentor to help in achieving that goal.
Currently we have Eight Mentors Available.

What is required to be involved in the program?
As the mentee, you are responsible for determining what you are hoping to learn from the mentoring period. As part of your application for the mentoring program, we will ask you to create an action plan. This plan should include what you primary goal is, and then a set of sub-goals required to help meet the primary goal.
Two examples as well as a blank copy are available at http://www.sarnialambtonchamber.com/documents/mentor%20application.pdf

It is important that when you apply for a mentor that you have determined what your primary goal is, and to properly convey this information to your potential mentor in your submission.
The role of the mentor will be to act as a sounding board, and to provide feedback and guidance for the mentees consideration to help them achieving their action plan. At a meeting, they will be providing feedback on what you have done towards your goal since your last meeting, and also providing suggestions on what to look at before you meet again.
Mentors and Mentees will meet for 4-6 hours a month for six months. The mentor and mentee will jointly agree on the frequency of meetings, and the mediums of communication to be utilized.

Timeline
  • March 26th  - Submission deadline
  • April 2nd  – Matches are informed of who they are paired with
  • 2nd week of April  – Mentee Orientation session
  • April  - October – actual mentoring relationship takes place.
How are the Mentor relationships decided?
If you are interested in having a mentor, you should provide a submission by March 26th which includes your updated resume, the name of the mentor you are applying for, and a brief synopsis of your intended goal for the mentoring relationship.   Due to limited availability, not all submissions will be granted a mentor.
You may only apply for one specific mentor.

State Chemical Solutions

State Chemical Solutions

State Chemical Solutions Inc. are about to celebrate a milestone anniversary; in 2011 we will have served the chemical manufacturing industry for a century.

Environmental stewardship is an area that we take very seriously, and have done so since this company was founded in 1911. We continue to set the standard by which our industry is measured with regards to environmental leadership. To date, we have received three awards from the Presidential Appointee to Environmental Protection Agency in the United States, for our work in providing environmentally safe, employee safe cleaning products.

Having secured the environmental ISO 14001 designation, the responsibility to manufacture ‘green’ cleaning products has become our primary objective for research and development. As a result, we have 14 products that bear the Green Seal® or EcoLogo® designation, a distinction that has tangible merit. To receive these endorsements, our product must exceed four critical criteria;

  1. Our Ecolution® products must be safe for humans, animals and water in their diluted state; we go one step further, our products are safe in their concentrated form.
  2. Ecolution branded products must perform as well, or better than, the caustic, nationally known brand
  3. All packaging must be recyclable
  4. No extraneous packaging

Only when these stringent criteria have been met, can we send our product to be objectively evaluated by these monitoring organizations. State Chemical is proud of the work we have done in preserving the environment and creating cleaner, safer working conditions.
